Info Graphic Concept

This week I began to think about what I would like to illustrate for my info graphic assignment.  The topics that I came up with were the following:

1. Washingtonians and hunger - showing the statics of those hungry in Washington State

2. English Mastiffs and the breed - showing the interesting facts on the large dog breed

3. The different pats of Baretta 9mm - showing the different pieces of the handgun and what the function of each part is

So far I have not clearly pinned down which topic I would like to continue with; as each subject is quite fascinating to me.  However, in efforts to make up my mind I have started to make concept boards for the topics.  Here is my first one for topic number 1) Hungry Washingtonians.

Editorial Illustration Concept

So after carefully reading each article I was able to narrow it down two different possibilities for my editorial illustration; Gluten Free Cosmetics and Iris Implants.  To help with my decision between the two I went on to create a concept board for each article using stock images from the internet. (Please see below.)

After taking sometime to look over the possibilities I ended up choosing to illustrate the editorial articel on gluten free cosmetics. (Please see below.)

                                    

Lastly, I believe I will continue to work on either the cartoonish illustration of the 1950's housewife with a gluten reaction from her lipstick or the factory of lipsticks with the metaphoric shadows representing cosmetics with and without gluten.
